Monday morning I woke up at 7am, jumped out of bed, found my most professional outfit, did my make-up, and was out the door headed to my first day on the job. As I have mentioned before I am interning for a company called Power2Motivate. I was one of the lucky ones in my group and I am able to walk to work everyday. It is about a mile there and then I started my now daily routine of going to the Starbucks in the building, getting my 2$ croissant and iced peppermint mocha deal, then heading back up the lift (what they call elevators in Australia) to floor 8. I then talk with my awesome supervisor about what needs to be done for the day. I found the work culture in Australia is much more laid back, but they still get the job done just as well as we do in America. The people at work are so friendly, and I am really learning so much from being there. I go home at 4:30, so monday I went home after work and decided to try my hand at cooking in our mini kitchen. I decided to make a creamy pesto chicken pasta and green beans which surprisingly turned out well. I also made a balsamic pesto mozzarella bruschetta as an entree. (entree is appetizer in Australia)
Today (Tuesday Morning) I pretty much had the same day but was assigned some new tasks. I came home from work and decided to make tacos for dinner. The weather has been so nice lately, but I heard it’s about to get a lot colder. I love keeping the windows open in the apartment and eating out on the balcony. It’s so beautiful here!
Cheers!
