Today I woke up at 5am and got my things together to be downstairs in the lobby at 6:15. I had my go pro, towels, extra batteries, sunscreen, and I was ready to go cage diving with Calypso Star Charters. We got on the boat around 7:15 and it was a 3 hour run out to the Neptune Islands where the Great White Sharks are frequently spotted. There were around 45 people on the boat and everyone was put in a group, each group was able to spend 45 minutes or so in the cage viewing the sharks. The water took my break away it was so cold, but once the shock was gone I was fine. The experience of watching the sharks is something I will never forget. Claypso Star did a great job making sure every group member was able to see sharks and even got 2 sharks to breach. Everyone was so friendly and I would go again in a heartbeat! I thought the view from the boat was the best, because in the cage the baitfish often got in the way. One shark we saw was almost 15 feet! The cage was partially out of the water so if necessary you could pop your head up, but I was completely in aw watching the sharks circle around us. The boat headed back in once every group had gone and we arrived back around 8:30 Pm so my day was done after the dive. Once I got back to the hotel, I ordered room service, took a long hot shower, and now I am off to bed. Since I will be traveling tomorrow I will not be blogging! Everyone have a wonderful Sunday!
Cheers!
